Indoor Track & Field is coming to Staten Island as fast as you
can say 2011. The ground-breaking will be later this summer
(Aug/Sept) The foundation will go in first followed by section by
section of the pre fab building.
SITRAC meet with Staten Island Dept. Of Parks Commissioner Paulo
earlier this month at his office to discuss the project and it's
progress. Paolo stated "everything is right on schedule for a
late summer start. It should take 2-21/2 years to complete"
It's great news to a running community who has waited 50 years.
Also expect progress on the Ocean Breeze Park grounds with
it's beautiful trails, as in Cross Country trails.
With two new traffic lights approved for Ft. Capadonno Blvd
visitors can expect a safe return to their cars.
Work has been completed by SITRAC on a management plan and it has
been presented to the Dept. of Parks for their consideration.
