What sounds like a rallying cry is really the last name of
Sheepshead Bay H.S. (Brooklyn) coach John Padula. Padula
has lived in the Great Kills section of Staten Island for the last
several years.Last year Padula coached his 4
X 1 Relay to the gold medal in the Outdoor National
Championship in Greensborough, North Carolina.
The greatest part of the article is the other Staten Island
connection. The author is none other that the world famous track
writer Marc Bloom. Bloom lived on Staten Island
for 25 years before moving to NJ in the mid 80's.
